Things that have been ours, a list: Thirty-five years each, Sixteen years together, fourteen married. Five cars, Three apartments, Two houses. Two families, made one in a red-carpeted church Two parents, made hers in a gray-carpeted courtroom (we leave both in a cloud of bubbles) Two hands, ours, hold two hands, hers. Two washing machines, One dryer. One dog, small, One kid, tall (so tall!) Ours, all.
